8th Container Planned for El Salvador
World Computer Exchange (WCE) is about to again ship 200 tested, working used computers to groups working with youth in El Salvador.
Half (100) of the computers are being sponsored by the Canadian government via S.H.A.R.E. Agricultural Foundation http://www.shareagfoundation.org which is importing a container of tested working used computers (with operating systems) from World Computer Exchange. S.H.A.R.E. has made arrangements so that there will NOT be customs duty.
- Pentium 4 only = $110 delivered to a port in El Salvador
- Pentium 3 with some Pentium 4s = $80 delivered
- Pentium 2s = $60 delivered to a port in El Salvador
- Pentium 1s (good for thin-client lab all going as fast as their Pentium 4 server) = $40 delivered
WCE reduces our sourcing cost 5% if a Peace Corps Volunteer or Rotary Club is involved.
WCE is seeking $3,250 from a Sponsor for the last 1/3 of our sourcing and shipping costs for the delivery of 100 sets. If we receive this Sponsorship, it will reduce the above per computer costs to the groups in El Salvador.
WCE has delivered 7 containers of 2,341 used computers to El Salvador to help connect 268 schools with 88,670 students. Most of these were to La Asociación para el Desarrollo Humano (ADHU) and Peace Corps.
