17 people representing 13 WCE Partner organisations in Kenya met with WCE's Henry Thairu (Board) and Wambui Kinya (Programme Officer) in Nairobi on August 6, 2008 to plan a shared and Sponsored container. They discussed final plans for the next shared container of used computers to Mombasa. They also discussed which WCE Partners will host WCE eCorps tech volunteers on the Kenya trip in a few months. They also began a discussion of WCE's plans on appropriate disposal of electronic waste in Kenya.
The generous donation from The Strategic Group in December of 2008 is to Sponsor the last 1/3 of the sourcing and shipping costs, the inclusion of a servers and planning for an eCorps tech trip to visit shortly after the arrival of the computers.
