Emma Shercliff

 

Emma Shercliff is Managing Director of Macmillan English Campus, Macmillan Education's digital business which offers online services as part of blended learning courses run in schools, universities and corporations. Emma joined Macmillan Publishers Ltd as a graduate trainee in 1997 and has held positions at Palgrave, Macmillan Education & Nature Publishing Group. From 2000-2, Emma worked for Macmillan Australia, based in Melbourne, where she established the Group's online subscription base within the region.

From 2004-5 she was International Sales Manager at Hodder Education and returned to Macmillan in September 2005 as Sales & Marketing Director for Macmillan English Campus. She was appointed Managing Director of Macmillan English Campus in September 2006. Emma has worked as an educational consultant for the British Council in Iran and for the Publishers Association.

She is currently a governor at a primary school in Southwark, with special responsibility for literacy and special educational needs. Emma was educated at Cambridge University, graduating with an Honours degree in French & Italian. She is a qualified TEFL teacher and has taught in France and Australia.

She is a citizen of the United Kingdom.

Emma has been advising WCE in content for our Partners, has helped us with the Nigerian Embassy for eCorps, has held two annual meetings in Tanzania with our Partners. This summer she hosted a dinner for WCE volunteers in the DC area to begin to help move them more toward fund raising. She currently is a member of the WCE International Advisory Council.
