Name: Amos Becker Batto

Profile: Cofounder of Runasimipi Qespisqa Software (www.runasimipi.org), a project to create Free Software in Quechua (an indigenous language in the Andes). Currently living in Abancay, Perú, but originally hails from Greencastle, Indiana. Has traveled through 20 Latin American countries and volunteered on computer projects in Sucre, Bolivia Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. In addition to having worked in homeless shelters in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico and Austin Texas - Amos has also worked as a microprocessor programmer in Colorado Springs, Colorado and has a BA in History from Grinnell College in Massachusetts in Latin American History, and also attended Indiana University-Bloomington.

Over the last few years I have been assisting as a volunteer with the UN Online Volunteering Service through which I applied to help World Computer Exchange with the Spanish side of their research.
