Greatest Need: Paraguay

World Computer Exchange is looking to raise $5,000 for a joint project with the Association of Directors of National Libraries in Latin America (ABINIA) to increase youth access to the opportunities, skills and understanding of the Internet in Paraguay. Funding of this project will:

  • Provide 200 used computers installed in Internet labs in 8 rural branch libraries and 8 school, and
  • Connect 7,000 students to the opportunities, skills and understanding of the Internet

This joint project is part of our Library Initiative which is focused on connecting rural libraries and schools in 5 Latin American countries.

About ABINIA:  The Association of Directors of National Libraries in Latin America (ABINIA) builds the leadership and the capacity of the National Libraries of Latin America through convenings, content development, and joint projects. Paraguay is one of five countries where ABINIA and WCE are partnering to support the branches of their National Library. ABINIA is headquartered in Caracas, Venezuela.
