Togo Shipment Planned
World Computer Exchange is pleased to be again shipping 200 computers to an iEARN chapter and/or to Peace Corps Volunteers. This project will connect 3,500 youth and includes a university, Peace Corps Volunteers and a Rotary Club. iEARN Togo has received approval for this project to connect six schools and three NGOs in various parts of Togo from the Ministry of Education.
With its local partners, iEARN Togo is increasing opportunities for boys, girls, men and women by getting them into school and offering vocational training, The Promotion of the Togolese Education and Employment Project (TEEP). The project is designed to enable these young boys, girls, men and women to break the cycle of poverty through a model that promotes literacy, professional development, and sustainable economic reintegration. iEARN is making this effort ~ but you can still help spread the gift of an education. Your contribution to this important project will go to the area of greatest need.

The schools in Togo were not familiar with World Computer Exchange and are nervous about pre-paying for their computers. iEARN Togo has taken the unique approach of securing micorfinancing for the match that the schools will contribute. The schools will then pay their match once their computers to return the funds to the source of the microfinancing once the computers are actually in Togo. Their donation of this match is needed to provide the funds for World Computer Exchange to gather, test, store and pack the computers.
