Online TECH Support Volunteers

Online TECH Support Volunteers: To help recipient schools to troubleshoot their hardware technology maintenance and upgrade problems and help them develop their long-term technology plans. This team helps us to develop online training materials for fellow volunteers as well as for our partners. Each volunteer in encouraged to provide samples of useful models and approaches to the WCE Operations Director for use in developing toolkits of training materials, best-practices or how-to manual, posting on the website and/or sharing with others in this same position who speak the same language. Your activities will be coordinated with the respective WCE Programme Officer of the country in which you are assisting schools. Where possible WCE will seek to coordinate our volunteer activities in this area with those of our strategic allies. Volunteers in this role will be encouraged to use their vacations to visit their partners to do local training and trouble-shooting. Volunteers in this area will also help WCE evaluate the impact of this work.

Online CONTENT Support Volunteers

Online CONTENT Support Volunteers: To help recipient schools to locate useful software, websites, and curriculum content and to develop, adapt, and share their own content. This team helps us to develop online training materials for fellow volunteers as well as for our partners. This will include some work in distance learning. Each volunteer is encouraged to provide samples of useful models and approaches to the Operations Director to develop training materials, best-practices or how-to manual, posting on the website and/or sharing with others in this same position who speak the same language. Your activities will be coordinated with the respective WCE Programme Officer of the country in which you are assisting schools. Where possible WCE will seek to coordinate our volunteer activities in this area with those of our strategic allies. Volunteers in this area will also help WCE evaluate the impact of this work.

Online TELECENTRE Support Volunteers

Online TELECENTRE Support Volunteers: in collaboration with COMETE International. The following is a working site on Telecentre Support: http://membres.lycos.fr/wcetelecenters. To help recipient schools plan, implement, and manage their after-school telecenters so that they generate the revenues needed for computer and network maintenance and to pay for their connection to the Internet. This team helps us to develop online training materials for fellow volunteers as well as for our partners. Each volunteer is encouraged to provide samples of useful models and approaches to the Operations Director to develop training materials, best-practices or how-to manual, posting on the website and/or sharing with others in this same position. Your activities will be coordinated with the respective WCE Programme Officer of the country in which you are assisting schools.
