News

Our next computer testing and packing date is on Saturday July 19th from 10:30 AM to 3 PM at Extra Space storage at 10400 Old Columbia Road, Columbia, MD  21046.

The Washington/Baltimore Steering Committee and interested chapter volunteers and field volunteers in the DC area are next meeting in DC on the afternoon of September 14, 2008.  eMail Tom at the address above.

Marketing Team:  Our chapter is gifted with 7 individuals with skills in PR, advertising and marketing.  They help with our chapter's marketing role and also help some with specific tasks helping market WCE overall.  Currently our Marketing Team is helping maintain this page, develop a quarterly WCE newsletter from this website, and help draft a story and press release about the WCE eCorps trip to Nigeria from August 9-24.  (Our Baltimore/Washington Chapter is represented by one of our volunteers.)

In 2007, WCE's local chapter was recognized as one of the best small charities in the Washington area by the Catalogue for Philanthropy. This "Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval" is a signal to prospective donors that WCE pursues its mission in a transparent and efficient manner. We were pleased to receive this designation, and we believe it's a vote of confidence that can make our fundraising efforts more successful as we continue to seek assistance.
